The trekking and walking tours are the team activities that cater to every taste. We propose the following tours:

Asklepion - Zia

The tour starts from the hotels and goes by bus to Asklepion, the ancient temple dedicated to the God of health, Asklepios. The Asklepion of Kos was the best and the most important “Asklepion” of the Ancient world. Situated 4km from the city centre on a hill surrounded by a forest with cypress trees, it is divided into three levels, each totally different from the other, with a magnificent view of the gulf of Kerameikos and the Middle East coasts. The tour around Asklepion and the “journey” into the World of Hippocrates, takes about one hour and there then follows the 12km trek through the pine forest, and up the Mountain Dikeos to the traditional village of Zia, with it’s magnificent view of the valley of Kos, the Aegean Sea and the coasts of the Middle East.

After a break for coffee, we return back to the hotels by bus.

Trekking up to Dikeos

The tour starts from the hotels and travels by bus to the village of Zia. From here on the trek begins, through the forest and the mountains paths, up to the church of Christos and then back to Zia. This tour takes about four hours. After the coffee break, the group returns to the hotels by bus.

Paleo Pyli

Beginning from the hotels, the participants travel by bus to the village of Konario and from there the trek begins. The first visit is to the paleochristian church of St Basil. Passing by Pigi it is possible to see the ruins of the Venetian Period. The route goes from the church of St. Basil to the village Lagoudi and from there to the village Amaniou, a part of Pyli. The village Paleo Pyli was abandoned by its inhabitants in 1830 due to a cholera epidemic. The name comes from the word “Peli”, and the ruins of the Byzantine castle and the Moni Theotokou, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, are found here. The tour returns then to Amaniou, and is then transferred by bus, back to the hotels.
