At the southeast extremity of the Aegean, Rhodes is the largest island in the Dodecanese and charms the visitors from the arrival on. The departure from Kos harbor is at 08:00 with the hydrofoil and two hours later the boat arrives at Rhodes harbor. The first view is fascinating. The Castle, which was the residence of the Knights, dominates in the Old Town. Walking through the impressive paved street of the Knights, which is flanked by the inns of the various “Tongues” (the nationalities of which the Order of Knights was composed), we arrive at the Museum Square. At a higher point in the street of the Knights is the palace of the Grand Master, building of the 14th century. Its floor is decorated with magnificent mosaics from the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine period. Among the notable buildings to be seen in Chora, are those of the Casteliana, which were a commercial center and the headquarters of the Knights and the Admiralty. Within the walls of the Old Town many old churches, together with a number of mosques.

The visitors have at their disposal about five and a half (5 ½) hours, walk around the impressive breath taking buildings, take a brake in a café and then shop in the very busy shopping center of the Old Town.
